1927 Studebaker Erskine Coupe built by Marko Tuunanen from Finland. The car, also known as the Golden Tiara was built by Marko during the winter of 2009. The car features a 1957 Studebaker 295 CID V8 engine fit with a 1957 Ford air filter, a 1957 Chevrolet transmission, and 1950 Mercury wheels.

Also I think I posted this photo earlier. It seems to be the same place and time, but note the Ford dealership.
Oscar Maples Ford, across Market Street from Frank H. Afton. One block west of Oscar Maples on the corner of La Brea & Manchester was Sparling Buick.

My dad was the used car manager at Afton in the early 60's.

I wish there was a pic showing the HUGE Studebaker neon wheel sign that was on Afton's roof.

                        • To follow Dave's example -- Americana in Rhodesia

Indy 500 winner, taken to Rhodesia at some stage where the car was destroyed. Photo on the top shows the car driven by Tex Kingon at the 1952 False Bay 100.
