            • Oops, back to my comment on picture # 6954: I misread your description and was looking at the row further back. I do agree that the second car from the left in the front row is a Studebaker, with a Willys parked beside it.

                • Junior Thompson’s long tow rewarded the SoCal gasser star with dual success in the B/Gas class (shown) and a brand-new eliminator category, only NHRA’s second. Trophy winners in the top three Gas Coupe/Sedan trophy classes squared off to determine a Little Eliminator. A supercharged Chevy pushed Junior’s ’41 Studebaker to low-13s at 104-plus.

                      The city is Victoria , BC . The car to the right of the Studebaker is a Ford Prefect. We called them Defects!

(Jack) Corson, who won the car at the Partners in Progress Red Skelton Show. Queen Betty Hager watches the presentation. Corson is assistant vice-president and manager of the insurance department of the First Bank & Trust Co. Corson’s name was picked from amidst more than 30,000 registrations at the Area Industrial Exposition another Progress festival event. Drewrys donated the car. Corson said his wife, Dorothy, won $100 Friday in a slogan contest at the bank. They have a son, Greg 6.
