  • #6627 I had a Russian mechanic show me vintage film of Studebakers that were tested in Russia during WWII and it looked very much like this. He said the Russians reversed engineered the everything from the Studebaker trucks that they had & kept production going into the '90s

            I think most of us have heard that the the Russians were so impressed with the Studebaker trucks they got through Lend-Lease that the word Studebaker was often substituted for their word for truck. A few years ago while on a mission trip repairing homes in the hollows of West Virginia, a young man in his Searly 20's from Russia rode with me delivering building materials to various work sites. I asked him about the word Studebaker and he said that even then older folks sometimes used it for truck. He didn't realize where the word originated. Naturally I filled him in on that count.

                            • Wow - a set of stabilizer bars would have gone a long way in making that corner easier and you wouldn't have to lean out the window...
