                    Using the date of the picture, I don't think it is Mt. Rushmore. I believe the carvings there were begun sometime prior to 1930 and finished prior to WWII.

                        The rock type is wrong for Rushmore. Also, the camp is near a stream and there is no stream up on the mountain.

                              I wasn't serious. It was just a passing thought that popped into my head when I looked at the picture. It would be cool if you could find a picture pre-Mt Rushmore with a Studebaker in the foreground. I'm sure It would have to be a depression era stude; back in the days when they were upscale automobiles. Challenge gauntlet dropped, prize to the first person that can find one....

                                Dan, you could google several of the businesses shown and see if they come up in Harlan City KY. However, the theater apparently having Virginia in the name does not bode well for the location being in Kentucky. BP
