      • Screen shot from Alfred Hitchcock's movie "The Birds" A few frames later the guy with the cigar sets a fireball in motion. The liquid on the ground by the Plymouth Crandbrook is gasoline from the previous screen shot. Since the movie was shot in 1963, the M and the Plymouth were old cars that didn't cost much to go up in flames.

          True, they were old but that Plymouth was a 2 door hardtop, pretty rare even back then. My dad had a 51 Plymouth, plain jane 2 door sedan around that time that I loved, nicknamed the "Puddle Jumper."

          • #6067: I got a bit surprised to see a DAF truck but then I noticed the licenseplate on the Studebaker & so I figured the photo must be taken in A'dam.

              Dad had a 1950 Plymouth 2 door black that had bed sheets for seat covers that was traded in for a new 1956 Commander Snow Cap White/Sunglow gold. Loved as a kid to watch the "Cyclops" turn colors as we went down the road.

                  • Regarding #6082;

                    While this building burned down about 20-25 years ago, the Benz franchise is what allowed it to survive. Bob Wondries actually had the Ford dealership a mile or two east of this location (north side of Main St., east end), where their Nissan dealership is currently.
