      • Here's a couple of scans of slides from W. Newton, PA. Not sure how the scans will turn out once uploaded.

          • I've mentioned this aspect before: In the photo above and Bob Andrew's HUGE parking lot in post #499...NO PICKUPS in sight! Think about that compared to today. I see one van (Corvair Greenbrier) above. That's it!

            • That looks like the Disneyland Anahiem, CA Parking lot in about 1960 or '61.

There are: '60 or '61 Corvair, Comet and '61 Big Chev. I think.

The only Stude. I could find is the White '59 or '60 Lark 2 Door Sedan at the left edge of the photo in the first row of the near lot.

              • I wonder what's the story of the black Model A (or similar) is.
I'd like to think it was grand dad taking the grandkids to Disneyland for the day in his prized old car.
That would be a great memory.

Also considering the date, I'm surprised at the number of pre-55 cars there are. They would have been 10 years old atthe time. I wonder if it's young high school or college kids. enjoying a summer day?
I was just a kid then, but in 1965 my neighborhood didn't have many 10 year old cars as the primary family cars.

There's a '62 Impala and a '63 Galaxie mixed in also. The latest car I can see is a Mustang at the left, so it's at least '64.

                  • The black pre war car is much too big to be a Model A. Looks more the size of a Buick or Studebaker.

                    1952 Commander 2 door. Really fine 259.

                      Most likely a Buick.

The gas is priced at 21 cents a gallon and the cheapest oil is priced at 15 cents a quart. Today, at least in our market, here, the cheapest oil at FLAPS, per quart, is still about 75% of the price of a gallon of gas. BP

                              • At first I thought '61 Lark 4 Dr. but the more I look it has the wrong roofline. It could be a Willys Aero Sedan, it also resembles slightly a Hudson Jet which looked like a baby '54 Ford.

I think it's true identity will remain a mystery.
