Wow, this one really screams of the progress that's been made in shipping! I was a General Manager of a port facility back in the 80's that handled cars coming off RO-RO(roll on-roll off) ships & some of the damage incurred on those. I can only imagine how much damage this form of shipping did especially when they encountered rough seas!

When I lived in the Black Hills area in the mid 80s this car, or one like it, was in the Deadwood/Lead area. I wish I had stopped and looked at it closer. The picture was obviously taken at the Pioneer Auto Museum in Murdo, SD at some time.
