Simon's had several locations in Los Angeles and the one in the smaller picture was at Wilshie and Faifax. It would have been torn down a few years after the picture was taken, replaced by the iconic 50's diner, Johnies.

Christophe, thanks for that Kodachrome picture of Simons!
Sadly, now that we have colour in all forms of media, we have become colour adverse in our cars, fashion etc. I posit that this may be a contributing reason that the vintage car hobby still has some pull, even cars in the 60's had more vibrant colours than those of today, not to mention the multi tone pastels popular in the 50's.
