My first thought upon seeing this picture was that the rear quarter panels with that big fin looked MOPARish.

    • The caption says, "1925 Studebaker Motor Home."

        • I stumbled across these pictures of Sidney, Nebraska. The race cars were sponsored by Crosby Motor Company, the local Studebaker dealer. Note that only one of the cars is a Studebaker. However the Ford is being towed by a new '52 Studebaker. This car was given to the driver Gale "Curly" Doggett. He was evidently a driver of note in western Nebraska. It didn't hurt that owner of the Studebaker dealership was Curly's father-in-law. Check out the details of Curly Doggert here: http://autoracingmemories.com/forums...ead.php?t=1658

This is supposed to be a 1938-40 Studebaker that was sponsored by Crosby Motors. The man standing there is not Curly Doggett.

Below is the '52 Studebaker towing Curly's race car. I am not sure which person is Curly.

Here is Sidney, Nebraska complete with a Lark in the foreground.

Studebaker must have had a lot of confidence in their '64 style full wheelcovers they would stay on that '64 R3 (or R4) GT Hawk at speed!

I heard a story that Jim Hall said drilling the holes in those Avanti wheel covers was one of his toughest decisions when putting his Avanti together. In land speed racing wheel covers have to be secured to the wheels via screws or something like Dzus fasteners.

No Studebakers, but note both sides of Studebaker sign.
