              • I have seen pictures of this car before but never this shot. The car is Junior Thompsan's '41 Studebaker that is often credited for starting the "Gasser Wars."

                  2R is correct, Frank; but you can't tell the model year without knowing the Serial Number. BP

                              • This Studebaker ambulance reminded me of my early childhood. Our next-door neighbor owned a furniture store/funeral home with free ambulance service during WWII. His earliest ambulances were a 1941 Hudson and a 1941 Mercury sedans very similar to that in the Studebaker pics. When new ambulances were bought after the war, a father and son in the neighborhood bought the old Hudson and Mercury. I remember that they replaced the cot and jump seat with the original upholstery.
