Owner was concerned it didn't leak, so he was squirting oil on the frame to satisfy another customer!Originally posted by BobPalma View PostThat has to be a staged photo, Joe...it looks like the guy has a power grease gun in his hand, but I can't think of a single grease fitting on that Studebaker that would be serviced from that angle or position!

It may well be staged, it came from a section Life photos if I remember correctly and was entitled something about a teenage mechanic. It was taken in 1954. There were several other pictures of teenagers doing other stuff. I guess it was trying to show teenagers in a positive light.Originally posted by BobPalma View PostThat has to be a staged photo, Joe...it looks like the guy has a power grease gun in his hand, but I can't think of a single grease fitting on that Studebaker that would be serviced from that angle or position!

Hmmm - non-tri-star hood emblem, yet tri-star wheel covers... and as beat up as that license plate is, it is a surprise to see how dent free that lower air scoop was at that pointOriginally posted by JRoberts View Post.jpg)

My father still owns his first Studebaker - a '53 Starlight at the cheapest level - nocture blue and probably originally equipped with black walls - might have looked like this one.
