                • Post #1944 has a good shot of the thermometer that was featured in "turning Wheels" a little while back. I think.

                    Indeed it does. That thermometer is sitting within arms reach of me at this moment (see image below). The article you mention was in the August 2007 issue of TW pages 24-27. Incidentally the guy behind the wheel of the '33 Indy car is Luther Johnson who drove it (or one identical) at the 33 race. He worked at Studebaker Engineering dept as a test driver until they closed the plant in '63.
