Which one are you driving to Springfield? Personally I'd love to see your '31 up close with my own eyes..

Not sure Matthew. The last time the meet was in Springfield I drove the '40 Champion Coupe Delivery but that one is getting repainted now. You are welcome to stop by and see the '31. Will even give you a ride in the rumble seat....if you are up to it!!

Yes, I was trying to get around you but you were blocking my high speed attempts. At the time I had my friends from Chile riding with me (two hot chicks in the rumble seat!). If you have a photo or two I would love to see them. Thanks.

Richard , took me some but I found them .
If you look close you can see the girls in the back . I thought it was a neat shot of 2 oldies behind me so my wife took a couple of shots.
The second one is your car in my side mirror and the 1st of coarse is out the back slider window of the Champ .

Great, thanks. I will have to work on my "drafting" technique next time to get a little better (closer) photo. Interestingly that is a '31 President Brougham right next to me.

I figured you probably knew who that was.
If you want me to send them via email they would be bigger.

What a lovely car. A pre-war is in my future, even though I'm mildly intimidated by my lack of knowledge of the era.

I was just about to comment on how beautiful that rear angle picture of the '39 was...and then the '31 photo arrives: Impressive, to say the least. I probably have seen that car in person and didn't realize it was yours, but it really is breathtakingly gorgeous. Your Coupe Express examples are my all-time favorites, but I haven't seen a slacker come out of those garages yet. Makes me want to paint the entire exterior again of my lowly postwar ragtop. Thanks for sharing those shots.

I'll gladly take over any Chilean beauty rumble seat duties at the Proving Ground next time we're all in South Bend if you're going to just haul Matthew around back there. His tender Georgia skin gets chilly below 70 degrees in my convertible, so I'll have those South American girls take closer pictures of your car for you as a favor. Maybe we can recreate that girls fishing photo with your '31 this time while we're at it.

Dave, you think you're such a comedian...

I wish money was no issue with me.. A '31 President is a car I'd certainly love to own.

And R.Q., one of these days I will definitely take you up on your offer for the rumble seat ride!

                        Both cars are stunning,
But must tip my hat to the 31, style, class, elegance.
Matt, Dave's just deflecting his jealousy on your potential ride in the rumble seat.
But if a lovely summer day proves to blow its gentle breezes just right,..... tis you who may be singing a sad song
and longing for some......posing the model, camera time.

I have a reflective car window shade if you need an assistant Dave.

Just a question for my information..
Please don't think I am criticizing this really neat car but asking..
Is there a general consensus about single stage paints vs two stage? I know the 2 stage stuff really shines etc. but is that considered true to the original car?
Again, Not a criticism just a question for when I paint one of mine..
                          Ron
Depends on where you live. In some areas shops only use two-stage now--only system available, some are now using water based two stage. If you want real original finishes you may have to soon ship the car out of the US to get it done

A few more images from the South Bend Intl meet in 2002 (provided by Joel Rosenberg r.i.p.). Though I have never tried it Bill, there may be room for one more back there!?

I can't believe how even that car sits with two people and a trunk full of fifty year medallions back there. Seriously, impressive suspension.
