The attached pictures show the installation. The vanity is still useable. The picture to the right shows access to the CD slot by opening the face of the stereo.

And more (couldn't list more than five at a time)... Can you believe someone put a spotlight on this car (last picture shows the patch)?

Beautiful car for sure Paul! It just amazes me that someone could sell a car of that caliber- or for that matter any running vehicle- without at least pulling the dipstick before the new owner picks it up

Tells me it's a good idea to give everything a closer look-over than you otherwise might have; not because the car would be hiding problems (I'm betting it doesn't), but to see if anything else was half-baked.

I'm sure you got a great car regardless- enjoy!

It has the straight edges at the very sides of the tread, not the wrap-around edge that was phased in around 1966. I was working at a gas station that sold Firestones in that era and remember getting a set for my Tahiti Coral '59 Lark hardtop (Power Pack 259 / Flightomatic) I was driving at the time. They were 1966 or 1967 production and already had the wrap-around edge, unlike the tire in your photo.

You might also examine the rim itself carefully, to see if there are any scratches or chipped paint that inevitably resuilt when a tire is mounted after production.

'Glad to hear of your successful mission. Did you sell the '64 convertible, or is it going on e-bay or?? BP
I got the build sheet for the car and it was ordered with Firestone 500 whitewalls. Looks like that is one of the original tires. The rim didn't seem to have tire shop chips on it either.

I have finally gotten around to doing a few things on the Avanti. I keep on finding "surprises". What's wrong in the heat riser pictures below? Also, the seller told me he had put on a new oil pan gasket and the oil leak were stopped. I found a pretty good puddle on the trailer under the front of the engine when I got home and it has been clearly marking its trail since. When I got it up on jack stands the third picture kind of let me know why. I'm sure the seller paid someone to do the job, but I'm wondering if they even took off the filler plate.
