I agree that is "cool", but if I could have a Packard truck, I'd sure like it to be this one: []

I'd be a very happy camper if I had that Packard pickup (say Packard pickup really fast several times) with a 7 foot wide snow plow. Anybody ever see a Studebaker pickup with a snowplow? I dont recall ever seeing such.

Thanks Mark, I have that issue somewhere and forgot about that picture. Unfortunately, its not a period correct snowplow as it appears to be a 1980's or newer plow (it has an external electro-hydraulic pump whereas old plows had an engine driven pump under the hood). I'll do some searching....

I think this is the truck the Paul Johnson (53k) owned and sold to George Hamlin. Big six and something like 5:40 gears.

This truck resembles one owned by the Ed Mark, now deceased, who owned Packard Industries in Niles, MI. Ed owned a beautiful collection of Packard vehicles and frequently drove them to work. Does anyone know the disposition of his vehicles?

Wasn't there a discussion here or in TW a few years back that 1 or 2 of those C cab Packard trucks may have survived? I recall they were exported to South America.

Or how about this one in SB a few years ago:

Open that back door and transport some 'shine in there. Who'd know that extra tank wasn't for gas? [8D]

Someone on Studebaker Truck Talk (perhaps John Batka) found one for sale on a website in Peru, Argentina or Chile a couple of years ago. As I recall, it was priced around $2300 USD, but shipping was an issue.

Here's the link to the topic on the Stude Truck Forum... but the ad is long gone. Wonder what happened to that truck[?][8)]

The original Packard Corporation made a very small number of trucks. I have a guy a few miles away that restores Packards (pre 57) and is currently restoring a Packard Fire Truck out of the late 20's. Many parts are having to be custom made. Should be a beauty when he is done.

My dad worked at a screw factory (don't laugh) after leaving the Army following WWII and told me the had a (solid tired?) Packard truck they used there.
