  • New Studebaker Drivers Club Website look

I just signed into the new look of our website. Very clean looking, update graphics and a task bar that led me to the forum. I hope everyone likes it. This shows progress for the club.

I think initial reaction might be missing the old site, but once everyone tries the new sight, acceptance should come quickly. Having people use it for the first time should give our membership a shot in the arm.

I don't know who is responsible but kudos to them and their hard work.

If folks have the SDC web site address bookmarked in their browser they will need to change the address. http://studebakerdriversclub.com/

Thank you! I'm glad you like the look of the new Studebaker Drivers Club (SDC) web site. I developed the site last summer and have been tweaking it for a few months. Last week, the Board of Directors approved the site and gave it their blessing. I just put it into production this morning. If you notice anything amiss, please let me know at webmaster@cornerstonereg.com.

        Wow that IS pretty... "Different"!
It will take some Serious time to figure that one out and get used to it.
I always use the "Studebaker Drivers Club" Black Line link at the top of our Forum Pages to get there, and thankfully that still works.

Where does the "...founded in August 1962" come from? IIRC, in the past we have have used the date of 12/24/62 as the start date of SDC. That is when SDC was incorporated in New York.

I must have been one of the last to use the old webpage. Just this morning around 8:45 Central time I renewed my registration through the old website.

More importantly is the question, How does it look on a smart phone?

The note on the site's front page says,
"Welcome to the new Studebaker Drivers Club (SDC) web site! This site features a completely new look and feel and supports the latest devices ."
I suspect Mark has included smart phones in that group.

But it doesn't affect me. My flip phone is dumb. My interactions are all on a desktop PC.

The main picture looks like a shot of a Junkyard. The link to this forum is hidden. The expanding car pictures are disturbing. Please leave these forums “unimproved”

I don't see what the need for a change was.

Great job, Mark! It's important that even though our favorite marque expired quite a few years ago that our website not look like it did, too!

Many sites operating on older platforms create conflicts with newer devices.
If you try to access a site on an iPhone 12 or an iWatch, you may have problems unforeseen by those of us who are still restricted to our desktop PCs.
Our Webmaster Mark Wheeler is obviously being pro-active to keep the site relevant to current technology.

Granted it's a whole new look; and some critique is to be expected.
I think Ray's comment about the cover shot appearing to be a junkyard deserves some support. Blurring the picture makes it difficult to realize it is a field of beautiful Studebakers in assembly at an International Meet.

Learning to navigate the site will require little more than not wearing the same clothes every day.

Thank you for the chuckle on the "junkyard" comment. I never saw it that way before. This was a picture I took from my hotel room window at an International Meet a few years ago. I purposefully blurred the picture so that you could not identify any individual or car for privacy reasons. After months of working on this web site and seeing this picture for what it was, now I only see it as a "junkyard". LOL! Perhaps down the road I will swap it out for a better picture.
