The plate on the drivers 'A' pillar is the Serial Number tag. If it's been painted over, the Serial number was engraved. You should be able to remove the paint without losing the engraving.

The last thing one would want to do, for originality, is to remove the serial number plate. There used to be stickers (or decals) available (may still be) to replace the painted part of the S/N plate. That is, it said "Built by Studebaker Corporation, South Bend, Indiana", or similar words. Of course, there was different wording on these depending on where the vehicle was built, what era it was built in, and what type of vehicle it is. I don't recall who made these, but maybe that info will come forward.

So I guess you are saying is that, what you actually want is BOTH a Serial Number Plate (OR Decal) and a SIX Cylinder '63 Daytona Hardtop Body Tag.

Those WERE actually Built in Canada.

Not quite .. im looking to obtain a replica tag as per my pic above, to suit a 63v327-- sorry cant remember the rest -- (mine is a Southbend Indiana car) ..

the 2nd prt im looking for is screwed to the drivers side a pillar between the hinges , however some clown has painted over it , which i successfully removed the original screen print ( body number is still there )..

i was wondering if there was a decal or blank tag that could be used in its place ...

                  thanks

Yes I believe there IS a Decal available to fix your "Serial Number Plate", maybe he or someone who knows him will see this.
Please Stop calling this a Body Number it is not, this confuses everyone.

The Serial Number Plate contains the CAR Serial Number for Titles and Licensing/Registration.

If there are traces of the Original Welds as seen in my Pics, HERE in post #3, 3 Days ago: https://forum.studebakerdriversclub....tag-attachment

The best plan is to grind the weld on the Door Post clean and Use Permanent Body Adhesive like "Fuser" at Auto Paint Supply Stores to secure it to the Door Post per my Pics.
Screws were NOT used for this.

Post #2 Here should take care of replacing the "Body Tag".
