Try Advanced Plating in Nashvilie Tenn. I've used then many times and they are excellent. They do super powder coating as well. Good Luck...

I'm wanting to have my '55 Commander's front and rear bumpers re-chromed. I saw some great looking chrome on some vintage cars this past summer and they mentioned a plating outfit somewhere in central Indiana. Anyone have an idea? TIA Ernie in Louisville

I have used Superior a few times and they are a get what you pay for type of place. Meaning they were way cheaper than most places I had estimates from but it was far from show quality. To me they are great as it is good enough quality for a nice driver/cruise night type of chrome. They are very easy to work with and pretty much do it in the time they tell you.

I agree with hillsidehemi on what he says, but would like to add they qoute based on driver quality. If you want show Chrome they can do that also at a different rate. I have had them do both and they do a nice job for the money.

Bradnree, those are very reasonable prices. The EPA WON'T allow automotive chroming in the ENTIRE city/county of Louisville. No one can sandblast in our area, either. Its made this kind of activity that much more difficult and expensive.

I had several mechanical parts sandblasted in Louisville, Napa store andmechanical shop off the Waterson on Dutchmans Lane. Beautiful work and at dirt cheap prices.

                          It is an addiction!

jbwhttail--maybe they are doing it "under the radar". The common knowledge in the car business circle is you can't do either in the Louisville area. that's why I'm looking in central Indiana. Seems the Louisville area is a high polluter and losses "points". It must regain those points by limiting chroming, painting with lacquar, and sandblasting. they say the lead in paint sandblasted eventually gets in the ground water. You can't buy lacquar paint in Louisville anymore unless you have a special license.
