Clutches on 1965 and 1966 Studebaker were always stiff.
Look at the hoagy clutch linkage designed by a three year old.
Yes my son owns the building where the Economy Motor Car company was located in 1908-1912 in Joliet Illinois.
I have a T86 from a 1965 for sale, same as a 1966 either six or V8.
It has a GM bell housing from the factory.

The build sheet came in today! It doesn't look like South Bend sheets, and this is a photo copy. The car was delivered to Capitol Studebaker Co. in Sacramento CA. Built Jan. 27 of 65. There are no dates on it to tell when it was shipped. It confirmed my thought that it was a 3spd/od. Laurentian Green with black interior, and reclining seats. Factory undercoating and manual antenna. Was the antenna one of those you cranked up from the inside? Or pulled up from the outside? Line number 8384, body no.8272, engine no. 205447524, and came with Dunlap 2ply w/w tires. I'm still trying to get it road worthy dependable. Little things keep popping up, like gas tank leaks. Nothing serious. It rumbles nice with the glass packs, but is geared low with the transplant gm 3spd. Otherwise it goes down the road pretty good.

The "Manual" Antenna would be a pull up from outside. The extra cost "Internal Control" cranked up from inside.
They both went through BOTH the Left front fender rear corner AND the Cowl, going into the Door pillar area of the Kick Panel.StudeRich
