Given what all they are listed fitting, I'd expect NAPA or similar could come up with an interchange.

After reading this post and others regarding the cc655 as front replacements on my avanti. I called my local supplier and just ordered a set, he said nobody has them and found a set , special ordered , $88 to my shop. i hope they ride as nice as i am reading.
1 Family owned 63 Studebaker Avanti 63r-1705 White with Orange interior , R2 4 speed.
        Just purchased 63r-3623 R2 was a auto now dressed to a R3 with a4speed.

I landed on this thread, searching for an alternative to the original OEM Studebaker coil springs for my '62 Hawk. from elsewhere in the thread, I see reference to AC Delco 45H3053. Having found the Moog coils no longer available, and because the OEM pair is $244 - I'd like to use the $130 ebay-sourced AC Delco ones I found. Anyone have any experience with that set? (on hawk or any other 53-66 Stude?)

I bought my Moog coils last year. Pretty old box, but it didn't seem to be a problem getting them. There's quite a height difference between the stock and Moog springs.

The springs can still be found at O Reilly auto parts. Cross the Moog number or use SP 08055.

I still have the old 63 springs on the car, I'm only assuming that those are past their intended lifespan. Thanks for the tip, will order a set for the v8 Lark..

The one thing I am on the hunt for is the strut/shock absorber in the middle of the spring.. What have people done to replace that?

I have been buying coil springs made to order from Coil Spring Specialties in St Marys KS for years. they can replicate anything.

Eaton Detroit Springs makes exactly what you want/need.
                    Ride height choices, too.

Originally a producer of wagons for farmers and miners, Studebaker began operation in 1852 but entered into automotive in 1902, after John Studebaker’s son-in-law urged him to build a practical horseless carriage.

I bought a couple sets from OReilly's first of the year. With everything going on, shortages and all, who knows if they still have them, even?

Two thumbs up for CSS, but if OReilly's still has the subject springs, they'd be first choice, since they'd be a cheaper price, and locally available.

just installed these O'reilly's in my 62' V8 Lark. Perfect ride height. No 205 rub. Had to add shocks (same as 62' Riviera/Buicks).

I've installed a couple of sets of the Moog / Precisions coils and have been really pleased with the overall improvement, most recently in my '63 Lark 6 cylinder. It also has a '64 V8 front sway bar. Those changes turned the car into something I enjoy driving, and completely did away with the handles-like-a-cheap-boat-that's-about-to-flip-over feeling. On curves/turns, the car stays a lot closer to level than it did before.

I also have an OEM rear sway bar from a '64 Super Lark that I'm tempted to install. May as well get the most out of it, even if it does have a gutless Crackhead Six for a powerplant.

                              Matthew,
Install Koni or Bilstein shocks and you'll notice even more of a difference.
