  • Interior: Seat Mounts

Does anyone remember, back in the years, a post discussing the use ofstainless steel plates to move your front seat back further than the factory mounts?

I don't remember the discussion, but they needn't be stainless, any steel plate thick enough to be secure will do. Actually, most cars have two sets of seat mount holes, about 2 inches apart. I used 1 1/2" thick wooden blocks to move mine back two inches and up 1 1/2 "inches. Of course, I had to use longer screws.

I made a pair for my Wagonaire out of 1/4" x 1-1/2" flat bar. I countersunk the bolt holes and used 5/16" flathead bolts. tacked the ones coming upwards for the seat mounts. Worked great
