  • Removing stainless drip edge from Hawk

Is there an easy way to reomve the stainless steel rain drip edging from a hawk without damaging it? This is the edging that exists over
the doors and windshield. Thanks for the help.

Most of us prefer to leave it on and work around it.If you have to take it off,use an old 'church key' type bottle opener to gently pry it off.

It is not impossible to remove those without damage...however not easy!
My best advice is: just DON'T!![:0]

A few have done it successfully. MANY have ruined the stainless. Do you feel lucky? [:0]

I've heard it recommended, once you get one end gently started, use a piece of wood (paint mixing stick) to carefully tap and nudge it off without damaging the stainless. This recommendation was offered with the caveat that you will scratch your new paint when reapplying the trim.
Best to leave it there unless you need to repair sheetmetal beneath it.

I use a beer can opener and a paint stirring stick to remove it, then carefully pop it back on.

Thanks for the info. I think I will work around. The roof is in excellent shape. Would have just liked to paint under the strip, ratehr than around it.
