  • Avanti quarter window latch repair

I need to replace the left rear quarter window latch handle link braket on my 63 Avanti. This is the bracket that is attached behind the upholstery to the rear of the window. I dont see how to remove the inner sail panel and arm rest upholstery. I dont want to pry on it and damage anything.I have removed all the visible screws and both panels are still solidly attached.Has anyone done this before to give me some hints on how to do it successfully?

    Thanks in advance
    Chris

The vinyl wraps around the fiber glass edges and window frame opening and is glued in, not a simple R & R job. You can remove the entire rear quarter window/frame/latch without messing with the upholstery.

Thanks JDP, It was way easy to take the window frame out. The bracket that I need to change is rivited to the frame. Is an aluminium pop rivit an ok replacement?

I think it'll do, but I prefer stainless steel.
