I read of another good bait technique on the h.a.m.b. forum and that was to super glue a piece of dry dog food to a trap. Apparently, the little fellows can't avoid tripping the trap while going for a snack.I guess you could reuse it if you wanted to save money.

I have to comment about Irish Spring... We used 6 bars in my RV one winter and when I opened the trailer in the spring every bar had been chewed on. The trailer had droppings everywhere and all the bars had distinct teeth marks in them. The critters looked like they ate about the equivalent of 2 full bars throughout the winter. I no longer use Irish Spring soap as a deterrent.
We tried Bounce (brand name) and it didn't work much better. Some of the sheets had been shredded so they were being used as bedding. We might try the extra stinky cheap brand this winter, but I now have the green poison bait-bars strategically placed throughout my trailer for the coming season. Desiccated mice are still nasty little piles of fur and bones but at least they don't stink...Hope this works.

Has anyone tried those "sound generators" that you plug in and it emits a frequency that keeps varmints out?
I have heard good and bad. I have a 40' x 60' pole barn & there is no way to plug all of the little holes around the outside of that place, even with the cement floor.
So far a couple "rat bars" from the local Farm & Fleet against the wall and stinky dryer sheets inside the cars have kept them out of my vehicles. I just filled all but the Avanti with dryer sheets... going to drive the Avanti tomorrow.

Anybody remember those car storage bags that were sold a few years ago? Are they still around? This came up as a topic of conversation in the pizza place in town this evening.Gord Richmond, within Weasel range of the Alberta Badlands

I acquired one of those devices when my mother sold her house and moved in with one of my sisters. It sounds like crickets. Crickets are everywhere. I think mice eat them. The blasted little thing probably attracts crickets and mice.
I think the best mouse control my mom had, was the six foot black snake I found neatly coiled under a box in her attic. When I came down the stairs holding the snake...it managed to remove my sister from the house.
So...snakes are not only good mouse removers...but work well on sisters too!John Clary

I read several articles on the net while researching this line of products: http://www.carbag.com/products
One article mentioned that the "sonic" or "supersonic" pest repellers were virtually worthless, and some had been sued by the FTC. Carbag does not guarantee its products as "mouse-proof", because the little bastards can chew through almost anything, if motivated by the scent of food. Cars give them nooks and crannies to nest in, safe from predators, and lots of nice bedding material. The bagged car does not offer those inducements. And the bag protects against moisture and dust, too, which is a big feature.Gord Richmond, within Weasel range of the Alberta Badlands
