I would contact the Studebaker National museum with the VIN. They will be able to tell you with the copy of the production order for your vehicle. They did a great job for me when I was interested in obtaining info on my Dad's '64 Avanti. There are probably others who frequent the Forum who have files to help. What vehicle is it? Is the VIN all that's left?

I agree with Stude1964, get the production order.
The first few numbers (64V) are sort of helpful - It's a 1964 with a V8 (64V)
But from what I understand, the rest is truly a serial number, and can't be decoded - it's only telling you that it was made after # 13717 and right before # 13719

Your production order with all pertinent codes for how it left the factory is available here.
The Studebaker National Museum Online Store is the place to shop for all of your Studebaker related merchandise needs....
Unless someone has already, for heaven knows what reason, researched your particular vehicle, this is as good as it gets; and far better than you can expect from any manufacturers still in production.Brad Johnson,
