    rear cork

    It has been a while since I put one of those cork seals in but I think I recall the corks come extra long and have to be cut to fit and I believe they are to be cut at least 1/8 long to compress when installed. It might be a good idea to pressurize the crankcase with a couple of pounds and go over the gaskets with soapy water. I have had the same thing happen with the front cork, I was sure it was in right! Dave

      ......there is no mention of the cork gasket(s) leaking due to them being trimmed before install (see post #12).... assuming no trimming was done, we can now question the quality control of the manufacturer ..... to the point: you're doubling your chances of leaks by trimming your gaskets at these locations....
