The brakes on the gt seem soft and go almost to the floor unless you pump them a couple times. Cant see any leaks. Think its air in system or what else could it be? Cars been sitting for a number or years and brake job was done less than 10,000 miles ago. But about 30+ years ago. If you pump them they come up but go soft as soon as you let up on the brakes so you have to pump them every time you use them.

You shouldn't be driving the car until the problem's been repaired. Brakes are simply too important to not keep in good working order.
You could have a bad master cylinder or leaking wheel cylinders (assuming you have all drum brakes). Fluid could be leaking onto the brake shoes and not on the ground. The system could simply need a good bleeding of air. Have you checked the fluid level? How old are the rubber brake hoses? They could be soft or collapsing inside.
You should definitely get it taken care of before driving it any further.Poet...Mystic...Soldier of Fortune. As always...self-absorbed, adversarial, cocky and in general a malcontent.

Trust me I 've just driven it around the develpment I live in at about 40 and its all open and in the country. I got new rear wheel cyls. for it and I think I'll order a master for it tomorrow. If it wasn't for the brakes I think It would be driveable. Fronts are disc brakes.

Bleed out the brakes and now the pedal is what it should be but brakes are not top notch on stopping. Got to give yourself a lot of stopping room. But should work untill I do the restoration then the brake need a big upgrade. I would sure hate to have to pull this thing down from about 70 fast could be a fun ride.

It sounds like the front Disk brake pads are worn down to the stops and no longer working or the Caliper Pistons are stuck.
