  • Electrical: Need a little more help

I posted recently a request for help with my 1928 Dictator, and it's horn. The wire that runs from the button down through the steering column needs to be changed. I would like to hear from someone who has been inside their steering wheel and the horn button area. There are three levers on my steering column and I think, 6 large screws that appear to hold the center of the steering wheel and levers togehter. I just don't want to "break" anything by opening the lever area and horn area, so am hoping to hear from someone who has "been there and done that". I have already been advised not to open the steering shaft at the bottom, which is not necessary for what I need to do. The horn wire runs through the center of the rod that controls the "light switch" which is mounted to the steering column shaft. Any help would be appreciated.

ID:	1674660This is as close as I can come... I can't help with your particular car... but they were usually quite straight forward; just carefully start at the top and work your way down until you get to the wire. Solider the new wire to the old and pull it through the bottom.
    GOOD LUCK!

This should be for your car. I know it isn't what you are asking but maybe it will help.

I asked my uncle who is somewhat familiar with the presidents. He thinks that there may be a snap off cover or button on the top of the control. He wasn't real sure, but it might give you something to look for.
