Brake pedal instalation

That is kind of strange Neal. My '48 car has a grease fitting for the Clutch/Brake shaft and so does my trucks. I wonder if it was an "oversight" or just part of the "wear it out & throw it away" mentality that was beginning to prevail in the industry?
