  • 1953 pick up rear end swap???

I own a 1953 Studebaker pickup that does not have a rear end in it. I am a teenager and new to this. I was thinking about a using a ford 9 inch but I want it to be as simple as possible and not real expensive. Does anyone know if there is something that will hook right up without a lot of modifications? Any suggestions??
    Thanks

There are lots of Dana Model 44 type Studebaker Truck rear ends out there, the track is different than a Stude. Car however and the Truck uses larger wheel Bearings and grease seals.

So the easiest, cheapest method is to buy a used unwanted complete assy. from someone who maybe built a Street Rod or just parted one out.

Do keep in mind though, that the "highest" (lowest numerical ratio) for Highway Cruising available for Trucks was 4.09 to 1 Ratio, so a 3 Speed Overdrive (or other) is required to keep the RPM at a affordable MPG level for Interstates/Highways. To just get her running and driving cheaply, this is still the way to go, just may not be for a long term keeper.
