  • 1964 transmission oil cooling lines

I have a 1965 wagonair with oil cooling lines. I would like to put these on my 64 wagonair.
Looking under the car I can see one line at rear of trans. The other line is going to top of trans and near the front of pan. I can't see the connection , but under the hood I can barely see it .
Question , How do I reach it? can't get to it under car, exhaust and mounting bracket for trans mounts in the way. Would I have to lower the trans in rear to get to it? Any crazy ideas will be read. thanks

If your '65 has a cooler in the radiator, then that car has a HD Flightomatic rather than the regular version. I'm assuming that your '64 does *not* - in which case adding the cooler is not as simple as just swapping over the radiator and cooling lines, there will not be the fittings on the '64 trans for them.

Now what I don't know is if the regular FOM can be drilled and tapped carefully and in just the right place for cooling lines, but I'm guessing the answer is "no." I also don't know if the transmissions can be swapped from a Chevybaker to a Stude-powered car straight over, although that seems possibly more likely.

Nate, thanks for the reply. the 64 did not have the lines from the factory, but it does have the plug. At least in the rear. The front , I can't see. I am guessing that the front also has a plug.
The transmission works fine cold, but hot it skips before going in reverse.
