  • 40 champion wheels

When we got our 40 Champion it had 16 inch and 15 inch wheels with 4 lugs. I just noticed going through the pictures of other proud studebaker owners that the 50 Champions have 4 lugs also will these fit my 40 and accept the hubs caps as well?

I know that my 41 Champion had 15" wheels on it when I bought it and did not come equipped that way so I suspect they were wheels from a pre 51 Studebaker as they were 4 hole. My 41 hubcaps fit on them no problem. Don't remember when they changed to 15", around 1947 I think. So it should not be a problem as long as the wheels you use have the hubcap retainer clips. The clips are still available if you need some.

I have one 15" wheel and tire off my 41 I'd give you if you were closer. I now use aftermarket wheels so don't need it. Yes I do have a '62 Gt, it is black and restored by me in the mid nineties.
