  • Hawk GT License Tag /Square bolts? ?

Sounds silly I know but attaching the front tag is difficult.
There are two half inch SQUARE holes in the bumper and the curve
makes needed a special holder. I bought same ($40) from SI hoping this simple
problem was ended. It arrives and has two half inch square holes like the bumper.
Any of you GT guys know what to use for mounting the holder? NAPA guy threw
    up his hands and laughed.

The bracket bolts to the bumper with round head bolts with a square shoulder.

I believe if you looked it up in the parts manual it would show regular rectangular bumper bolts or you might go to your local FLHWS (Friendly Local HardWare Store) and ask for the appropriate size carriage bolts, as they have the same "square shoulder" up at the head of the bolt, and nuts (also use lock washers) HTH.

Road Racers turn left AND right.

Thank you guys. I gave some thought to carriage bolts but thought
I would need a half inch diameter bolt to get the right shoulder size and it made
little sense that it would be designed to require two 1/2" steel bolts
        to hold the plate on.
I thought maybe Studebaker had something special to fit the square openings.
        Thanks Again,

My 63 Hawk license plate holder is attached with 2 round headed bumper bolts. I think it was supplied this way from the factory. jimmijim

It just uses bumper bolts to mount the plate holder, they have a square shoulder.
