The other night I went thru the Service Bulletins. I would imagine that under present government rules Studebaker would have had to recall all 56Js with Ultramatics every month. There was not a month where they did not upgrade, replace, modify, or change the specs, parts, assemblies or sub assemblies on that transmission.
But, thanks to the CD, I came across a change for the linkage, where Studebaker suggested that the middle hole on the throtle prssure arm be used instead of the lower one that was set at the factory.
I put mine back o the lower hole, and found a better throtle response and more acceleration power.
