How odd!!! What kind of mechanical set up would you have to have to operate the brakes from the otherside of the truck?
Unless it also has the rare option with brakes on the passenger side so that your wife can operate the brakes herself without having to tell you to "WATCHOUT!!"

I think that pic is flopped, note position of battery and crankcase breather hose on the air cleaner, heater box, etc.

I remember this Champ being on ebay a couple years back! And I remember it because the reserve was like about $20K or so![:0][xx(] It was accompanied by many more photos that time but two of them used in this auction are reruns from then.[}]

JDP; I think what Jack B might be trying to say is that he misrepresented that this is "all original" "and may have the only factory tow package"! I know this truck, it was built by a friend of mine in the Los Angeles Chapter SDC; Stan Haverland, he did an amazing high quality job on the restoration of this truck...BUT anyone can see it has a added dual master Cyl, power brake unit, new receiver tow hitch, narrowed Chevy rear bumper, R1 air cleaner, '60 Champ Pk. Lites, added A/C, even new Ford wheels, custom & absolutely beautiful "Chrome Look" painted tailgate lettering, Custom Teal Green Paint, custom seat upolstery, Brand X seats, carpets and many upgrades to make it more comfortable, but certainly NOT stock! It has traveled quite a long way from LA to Rhode Island! Very nice MODIFIED, RARE 3/4 Ton 8E-12 pickup! It has taken many first place trophys, I think in modified class at SDC events. Rich.

Thanks, I bought the "tow package" line, even though I should know better.

StudeRich,
You've got me wondering if MAYBE this could be my long lost Champ that I drove to California in in 1982. I sold it out of desperation late that year (I couldn't EAT the truck!) and consequently lost track of it. I'd have bought it back later if I could have found it.[}
] It was an 8E12 that I'd purchased out of Plains Ga. in '78 or so.

Biggs; I'd bet one of my traction bar equipped 44 TT's that this guy doesn't have a clue what the build slip shows about this truck's "Original" equipment even though he says: "This is a perfect representation of Studebaker Champ restored to its original condition!" It was probably like most Stude. Trucks, ordered with only a Deluxe Cab and maybe a Climitizer/Heater!
If you are curious enough, e-mail me at rich@studebakersnorthwest.com and I will respond with a phone number to call the builder of this great truck!
