  • prestolite dist

I bought a car with some extra parts.
A prestolite dist. with what looks to be coil type pick up.
The dist has two wires out the side one black, one orange maybe faded
red with a flat two wire connector.
what is this and what else do I need to use this, as it has never been installed?
    Thanks

Sounds like a Thibeault electronic conversion, uses MoPar guts. Requires a 70s-80s Chrysler "box" and wiring harness to work. I just installed one on my '55 coupe and it seems to work well. If you'd rather not use it post some pics, I or another reader may be interested.

      Forgot to mention two things:

      1) if you decide to use it and need a scan of the instructions email me njnagel at comcast dot net

      2) if you have a MSD type box laying around you don't need the MoPar box, most aftermarket ignition boxes can use the Chrysler magnetic pickup directly as a trigger

      good luck
