  • part numbers

    Hello,
I have some Studebaker parts that belonged to my father, who has passed. I am trying to sell them for my mother.
My father added part numbers to many of the items and year but not model of the car.
I need to find a sight that would describe the part by part number, such as year, model and any other pertinent information.
    Is there such a site?
    Thanks for any help.
    Bob

Uh, not a site as you describe, but...this site right here is probably your best bet. It is full of people who have nothing better to do than help people! As if keeping our Studes on the road weren't a big enough job! I don't know how many parts you're talking about, but I'd say if you put up about ten at a time at the maximum, you'll probably get responses for all of them. And maybe offers to buy some of 'em!

No doubt that you have found the right place to ask what a part number will fit. Some of us have our parts books sitting right on the desk next to our monitors, others know certain part numbers off the top of their head!!! There are several things that will help you and us~

Do you know what car your father had? Once you can narrow that down (and depending on how many parts you have) it might be a good idea to get a parts book covering that/those years. Ebay comes to mind at that point, or you could mention what kind of parts they are, maybe list some numbers/descriptions, and see what happens then- [?] [:0]

No doubt in my mind that you would get offers to buy the lot after that~ depending on what you have and where you are...

As Kurt indicated, with the right Studebaker parts catalog, the number alone should be sufficient to reference all applications. Since you don't have the catalogs, and many of us do, this is probably the best place to inquire and, as he said, a few at a time.

If you know the year it would help us grab the correct catalog, reducing our search time to a minute or two.

Also, some parts can apply to a number of years and models! Sometimes a given part can be found in NUMEROUS parts catalogs. Mechanical parts are especially spread across a wide spectrum of years and models! But trim parts too to some extent.

Thank you all for your guidance.
I have many parts, as my father was an avid Studebaker fan and collector. Some parts are marked with all the information needed some are not.
Do I seek the information under this thread or is there a special place for my requests of part # information?
            Thanks again for your help.

Bob, if you like, click on my "handle" Mr.Biggs at the head of a post and then send me the numbers via the E-mail box that pops up.[8D]
