Need to replace the shaft seal on my PS pump. I did one once and it leaked. Any special tool or care this time...? Also, I have a NOS "Ford" pump nearby...I assume its the same pump...?

You can use a 1" wide piece of thin brass shim stock, cut it long enough to wrap around the shaft to make a "ramp" for the seal to slide up and over the "step" in the shaft. An approprate size socket can be used to tap the seal into the pump housing. Hope this will help.
