  • '63 Lark hood hinge access? Help!

    Hey all,

Popped open the hood on my '63 Lark this past weekend and one of the passenger's side hood hinge mounting pins broke. (It was the rear-most one, nestled in the firewall). I can't seem to find how to get at it, so that I can drive out the old pin and make some sort of repair.

Does anyone know how to get access to this? Anyone had to replace or repair one of these and have any advice?

Thanks so much for any help!

    Mike

Checked my '63 Lark and there are no pins on the hood hinge. It is bolted to the body just inside the rear edge of the front fender. If the bolt is broken, you will probably have to drill it and use an easy-out. There is no access from the passenger side that I can find.

Without a long drill bit, fender removal may be necessary for access. I suppose you could drill and tap the bolt with a smaller bolt or weld something to the bolt to screw it out.
