  • Firewall liner installation??

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I'm in the middle of restoring a 1947 M16 truck and need some help with the firewall liner insulation. I bought a new piece of firewall liner which was just a flat piece of insulation but the firewall in the M16 is not flat. My question is how do I install that flat liner insulation to the hump in M16 firewall? Or do I just have the wrong firewall liner insulation?
    Thanks R.J.

Welcome to the forum. I can't help with the truck pix but here is a shot of my 54K with the insulation installed.

Just cut the pieces to fit in any fashion you can and tape the seams with aluminum tape.

And by the way, use 3M super spray adhesive to attach it.

    Hope it helps

      Welcome to the forum RJ.
Bob, you're just showing off. (Looks good BTW)I think what RJ has is the thick cardboard firewall liner (actually called a dash liner)with the fiberglass (I think) insulation on it.

Well, you caught me, but I assumed that was what he meant by flat sheet but your description sound's more logical.

That th'ar assume thing got me again.

Thanks for the replies! Brad is right, it is just a flat piece. The holes for the steering column and wiring harness do appear to be correct but it doesn't work for the contour of the firewall. I do like what Bob has done and maybe I'll go that route.
            Thanks again R.J.
