Interior window molding paint for '50 Champion

Hi:
I am getting ready to have the interior done on a '50 Champion Regal 2 door. The metal moldings around the windows need to be repainted. Were all '50's interior moldings painted the same color? What is the color called and where can I get the paint (maybe in spray cans)?

I believe they were. The color we call griege. Your best bet is to have your paint supplier scan a clean area, like the inside of the glovebox door.
Have them mix a pint. You'll probably find more than thirty interior pieces that take that paint.

I had Finishmasters scan the best piece I had (not a good piece just the best one)and mix a Chrysler color named Silver/beige. I am going to spray the pieces as soon as it warms up (should be by Thurs or Fri). I can let you know what the paint number is when I get home tonight if you want.

Howard, I know I'm sort of repeating, so this is just reinforcement. The interior of my 50 Champion is 'gray' and when I repainted it, I took a piece to a auto paint store for matching and got the paint very easily.

'50 Champion, 1 family owner

The paint I got from Finishmasters is:

National Fleet Color Silver Sand
No 368197 IB

I have not sprayed it yet (hopefully will this weekend) so I do not know how it will look.
If you want I could send you a picture when I get it done.

FWIW - the wheels on my 50 Champion are the same color as the interior silver. I don't know if this is how it came or if a PO painted them to match.

About 15 years ago in TW there was a technical help answer on the color of the 1950 interior paint color. I had some matched up at a local auto paint store. I don't now remember the paint code, but might have the old can with the number on the top. It was like a blacker gun metal gray
