Tom, did you install an 1 1/4" bar or the 1"? Stock springs or stiffer? I don't understand if you are recommending these changes or cutting the fenders. I can't quite grasp the gist of what you are saying.

The gist of what I am saying is that each car in the end will be set
up differently, its impossible to give an exact formula. I have stock
height springs, and stock sway bars and 20 year old shocks, without
any tire contact. But I have a Studebaker Avanti, which has a larger
wheel opening than an Avanti II. Wheel offset also plays an important
role in the mix. If you plan on dropping an Avanti II down to a Stude
Avanti height, you are going to have to cut the fenders.

In my experience Avanti IIs are more prone to tire-fender contact.

Ya, I don't buy these claims of getting the right springs the first time, except on a stocker.

I wouldnt bet on even getting stock springs that are right. Its a hit
and miss regardless. When changing something like that, expect to
do it twice. Once its done - enjoy. That goes with ALL makes & models.
