  • Trunk Mat for 1951 Landcrusier

I am looking for used trunk mat (or portion of one - not rubber) for a 1951 Landcrusier. I'd appreciate any help.

Here's the CASO way to make a mat. I cut a floor mat and trunk mat for my Champion out of sheet rubber runner mat, available in a wide variety of styles and thicknesses from a variety of vendors. I bought mine, which has a nice pebble finish (1/8" thick) from US Mat and Rubber:

I got good service and a reasonable price. Another Forum member was kind enough to trace his trunk mat and send me a template. I would send that template along to you, but I think a Land Cruiser trunk is bigger than a Champion trunk. Maybe someone else would be willing to make you a template for a nominal fee? Good luck, and let me know if I can help.

I notice that he said not rubber. The woven type would be nice to have, but hard to make.

Land Cruisers had woven mats? What did they look like?

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures. I remember the one in my dad's Land Cruiser because it was so different from the rubber ones I was used to. Maybe someone here has a decent one they can post a picture of.

I have seen a sisal rug used for trunk matting. Trimmed to fit, it looked very nice.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, the trunk mat is made out of a material that resembles bamboo. It had 3 colors with a vinyl edge around the mat.
