I need to replace the spring pads on the front of my 47 Champ with the Planar suspension. This front end has a big leaf spring running across the front with each end resting on the lower A arm. Can I get by with taking the lower A arm loose at the two mounting points on the cross member in order to replace the rubber spring pads? The shop manual shows a different method using a complicated tool that nobody probably has anymore.
