  • twin traction greese or what

Hi guys I have a 1959 hawk with a dana 23 twintraction rear end.I am installing a new clutch pack. The shop manual says to use SP twin traction lubrication. What is that and can I use something else? Thanks for all the help in this restoration. Allan

I've had great success with Redline Synthetic.

Back in the 50's and 60's it was sperm whale oil. Now totally outlawed.

Now you can purchase synthetic oils that will work in the TT rear end.

            Here's what I used. http://www.redlineoil.com/Products.aspx?pcid=4

1st one on the page, GL-5.

The clutches in my Dana 44 were chattering after the car was driven 50 miles or so on the highway. I cleaned the rear out and filled it with the std. stuff and some additive but all it did was keep the chattering away for 100 miles instead of 50.

Cleaned it out again and replace it with the Redline, no additive. Never chattered again.
