  • '59 Silver Hawk Engine Swap

Can a Supercharged Studebaker V-8 engine be installed into a '59 Silver Hawk that came with the Flathead 6cylinder? If so, what all will I need to change?

    It can be done.
Among things, besides the engine, that you will need to change are; transmission, differential, front & rear springs, front & rear brakes, exhaust system, probably radiator.
I doubt that the early supercharger set up will clear the hood, so you will either have to cut the hood or lower the engine (or use the late S/C set up).
Why would you want to do this? I think that you would be far ahead by selling the six Hawk and buying a V8 car (assuming that you have the supercharged engine) or by buying a supercharged Studebaker (1957-1958, 1963-1964).

Doesn't look like that's a good idea. The car owner asked me to look into it when he found a supercharged V-8 online. Thanks guys I appreciate the help.
