50 studebaker stuck in L.A.

My 50 landcruiser arrived in Honolulu July 24th. The shipper admitted to toasting my 6 volt battery with a 12 volt jump(or Jumps)They put in a new 6volt battery and got the car on Horizon Lines. My fear was that they also toasted the generator and voltage regulator. When I started the car, all gauges worked including the ammeter which showed a charging generator. The stop light bulbs were toasted and whenn i got it home I found out the headlight sealed beams are only getting 3 volts. Headlight switch is getting 6 volts in and out. So far we are looking for grounded short in the line between the h.l. switch and the lamps.
All other things are perfect even the clock and the radio are working. Everything on the car is original and the 52,00 on the odometer looks real good.
