  • What is this wheel cover for 196?

What year and model are these wheel covers for? Somewhere in the back of my mind the model Hawk comes up. Still, I wouldn't know. Does anybody else[?]

I can't tell if that is silver or white. If white, '62 Lark (with a red center.) Don't recall exactly what year/model the silver was used on; I want to say '63 Lark and Hawk both (with a black center?)

Well, I suppose I could repaint them.

Perhaps this picture will be a bit clearer. Looks to me like a black S with black centre and ring.

Look at the outer circle toward the bottom of the picture. It's clearer there. Hawk covers?

You talkin' US or Canada...Domestic or Export...Parts Book or actual practice [}]

That same stamping was used from '59-63. The only US versions with white rectangles in the outer circle (if in fact those are white) were '62 Larks and '63 Larks. '62 would have a white "S" and red in the center circle. '63 would have silver "S" with white in the center circle.

Well, I suppose I could repaint them. Still, I was curious. They Looked original. I do know that some of these were painted differently for the Hawks. I just can't remember which. Not a Hawk fan. Nice car though.

In the Dec. 1989 T/W, the is a Feature Article on wheel covers by F. Fox. That color pattern is not shown at all.

I believe those are for a 59 Lark given the colors on them.

Yeah, well that's ok. Thankfully the company had the good sense to make these of a decent metal. It's easy enough to just clean them up and repaint them for whatever year I want to use them on! Thanks for the information and suggestions fellas!

Turns out that outer rim that looks white in the photos was silver. There is no other paint on them except the black in the S. So that makes Kent the correct guesser. They're 59 -60 wheel covers. Couldn't tell the correct colours till they arrived in the mail.
