  • Electrical: Horns and relay location '54 3R5 truck

Hi all, Wondering where the mounting points are for high and low horns along with the horn relay. Replacing the wiring harness and the truck didn't have them installed when I pick her up. I suspect the front left but can't find exacts.
    thanks

A single horn was standard equipment on 2R and 3R trucks, and dual horns were optional. There were two different dual-horn kits available from the factory: Sparton and Delco. If a 3R was ordered with dual horns, the factory would have installed Spartons, which is what I have on my truck. But a dealer would have installed whatever they had available, which was more likely to be the Delcos used on Studebaker cars around that time. I believe the Delcos used a single mounting bracket for both horns. The Spartons were mounted individually on the front side of the radiator saddle. The horn relay was mounted on the engine side of the radiator saddle, just below the binding post assy.
