Still having problems getting power windows on the Avanti to work. Didn't work when I got it. Had motors serviced. One rebuilt, one was stuck, just cleaned and checked over. Power to the switch goes dead the second you hit the switch. Give it a couple seconds it comes back on. If I hook my battery charger to it so it has a full 12 volts they go down fine but the motor just busses unless you help it lift to go up. Anyone have any ideas? Starting to wish it just had crank up windows.

Try replacing the circuit breaker. (I never had any trouble with my Avanti power windows -- unless it rained.) If you have a corroded wire it will draw xs current and pop the breaker - my plan 'B' would be to run a new wire to it (try to get a heavier copper wire. Good Luck! ( I had trouble with the ground wire)

Thanks for the help. By the time I got to read this I found my problems. Just took the circuit breaker out of the circuit. Then had power, Lubed to heck out of everything and checked my wiring again. Had one wire hooked wrong. Readjusted the track and they go up and down nice now and both switches work as they should. Just need to move the stop up on the rt door and then can put the trim back on. One more pain in the a++ problem fixed. Couple more and I maybe able to drive this thing this fall yet.

A couple of changes I made to my power windows in my '63 Avanti.
Incorporated relays (one up&one down per door) that are feed 12 volts without going through the ignition switch.
There is a location on the widow regulator to add an additional spring.
These changes, made 20 plus years ago, made a noticeable improvement.
